FHO Racing BMW confirms Ryan Vickers alongside Peter Hickman for 2022 BSB
Ryan Vickers will team up with Peter Hickman to front FHO Racing BMW's challenge in the 2022 British Superbike Championship (BSB)
FHO Racing has revealed Ryan Vickers will join its team for the 2022 British Superbike Championship (BSB) alongside the already confirmed Peter Hickman.
Though still only 22-years of age, Vickers will enter into his fourth season of BSB competition in 2022, each of those spent with Lee Hardy’s RAF Regular & Reserves Kawasaki team.
The youngster made his BSB debut aged 19 when he was tapped to make the unprecedented leap from the National Superstock 600 Championship he won in 2018 to succeed BSB runner-up Jake Dixon in the RAF squad.
After two promising, if error-prone campaigns in 2019 and 2020, Vickers enjoyed his best season yet on the new generation Kawasaki ZX-10RR in 2021 with 17 top ten results, while he just missed out on a podium at Thruxton when he fell on the final lap.
For 2022, Vickers will pair up with Hickman on the FHO BMW M 1000 RR the TT legend took to the Title Showdown last year.
“I’m extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to ride with FHO Racing BMW. During the 2021 championship, it was clear to see Faye’s dedication and commitment to the team and I am really looking forward to joining them for next season.
“Hicky had an amazing season with FHO Racing this year and it will be a privilege to work alongside him within such a professional environment. Not only am I there to learn, but I’m also there to win and I feel that this is my chance to move forward.
“I have learnt so much in my short time in BSB and I feel this opportunity has come at the perfect time for me to make this next step.
“The BMW M 1000 RR is a proven race winner in the championship so I can’t wait to test it for the first time. I am now excited about starting work with the team to prepare for the 2022 Championship.”
