Leon Jeacock sets sights on 2022 BSB success with Specsavers Suzuki
Leon Jeacock steps up to the British Superbike Championship (BSB) full-time in 2022 on the Hawk Racing-prepared Specsavers Suzuki GSX-R1000R
Leon Jeacock has been confirmed as the 30th entry on a bumper 2022 British Superbike Championship (BSB) entry list after making the step from Superstock with Specsavers Suzuki.
A familiar face in the BSB paddock, Jeacock has been competing since 2011 after starting out in the Superstock 600 Championship and has taken in numerous starts in various classes since.
As a member of the Hawk Racing team, Jeacock has campaigned its Suzuki GSX-R1000R in various club sport events, including the 2021 Race of the Year at Mallory Park where he was a second place finisher behind BSB race winner Gino Rea.
Having also made a BSB start towards the end of the 2021 season in place of the injured Danny Kent at the Buildbase-backed outfit, Jeacock will get a full entry in 2022 on a Suzuki-backed by Hawk Racing with sponsorship from Specsavers.
“It’s a great privilege to be stepping up to BSB. After starting out in 2011 in the National Superstock 600 Championship, my one goal was always to compete in the Superbike class, so to finally get a chance is amazing.
“I have to thank Specsavers for this opportunity. I have been a test rider for Buildbase Suzuki for some years and work full-time for them, so I always found previously that testing the Superbike and then jumping back onto the Superstock at each meeting was hard. To be able to concentrate on one bike for the season is going to be amazing.
“I’m putting in the work behind the scenes with training and nutrition support from Loughborough University and I will be in my best shape ready for the season.”
