British Superbike Championship (BSB) Title Showdown contender Tommy Bridewell will enter into his fourth season with the Oxford Racing Ducati team in 2022, it has been confirmed.

The Wiltshire rider is one of BSB’s most experienced and versatile hands having started his first race back in 2009, though it wasn’t until 2019 and his full-time switch to Oxford Racing - née Moto Rapido - that he found a long-term berth, one that will yield a fourth campaign in 2022.

Though he has remained a ‘one man band’ in the single-rider team in that time, Bridewell has produced his best BSB results on the Ducati Panigale V4 R, most notably in 2019 when he achieved 18 podiums and pushed the factory PBM Ducatis of Scott Redding and Josh Brookes all the way in the Title Showdown.

“I am obviously really happy to be staying with the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team for another year. For me it was a logical decision to continue next season, we are strong as a team and the Ducati is the all-round package. I feel that together we can fight for the championship.

"I am really excited for the rest of this year, pre-season testing and looking ahead to 2022. It is nice to be in a position now where my contract is signed and I can really focus on the final two rounds of this year and continue going forwards.”

The announcement comes as Bridewell gears up for the final round of the 2021 BSB Title Showdown, where he still has a shot at the title following two timely wins at Oulton Park, even if indifferent results last time out at Donington Park leave him with a 21 point bridge to gap to current leader Tarran Mackenzie

With his team well placed to also get the better of the factory-supported VisionTrack Ducatis for the first time, team owner Steve Moore is delighted to be extending its relationship with Bridewell.

“I am really happy to announce that Tommy will be back with the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team next season. We have come a long way since we began working together.

“What started as a few races has turned into a long-standing relationship, which is hard to come by. So far, we have celebrated race wins, podium finishes, and we are fighting for the championship, so I am excited to see what we can continue to accomplish as a team.

“We can now look ahead to next season, but also importantly focus on this year’s title fight now without any distraction and that is important for all of us.”
