Michael Dunlop to return home before Senior TT
The Northern Irish rider says 'body had enough'
IT HAS been confirmed that Michael Dunlop will miss today’s Isle of Man TT Supersport Race 2 and instead will return home to rest ready for Friday’s Senior TT.
The Ballymoney man suffered a heavy crash with another rider at the Nook in Sunday’s Superbike Race whilst on course for a 132+mph lap.
Dunlop has been passed fit to ride, but with extensive bruising and no rest days due to delays on Monday, the 26-year-old said his ‘body had enough’ after finishing second in the Superstock Race yesterday.
It is reported that Dunlop will return to Northern Ireland for physiotherapy but will return to the island in time for the Senior TT on Friday.
UPDATE: Dunlop is to give the second Supersport Race 'a try' this afternoon and will return home to Northern Ireland this evening according to Isle of Man TT boss Paul Phillips.
