If you’ve been a fan of Ducati and World Superbike prior to 2018, chances are you remember the last V2 Panigale bikes used.

Hard to believe given its current form in racing, Ducati was not the dominant force that season as Kawasaki claimed the title. Recent years have seen more success come Ducati’s way than ever before, though. In both the Superbike and MotoGP classes Ducati has won the last two riders’ world championships, along with the manufacturers’ titles in both seasons.

A lot of that success in World Superbike is down to the Panigale V4 R which has regularly been updated since 2019, but the V-twin used prior was also a formidable package at times. Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri were the official factory riders in 2018 and both won races that season, while Rinaldi was competing for GoEleven and also enjoying success.

The Italian, who joined Aruba.it Ducati in 2021, then became a consistent challenger for race wins aboard the Panigale V4. Now, there is the chance to own this beautiful 2018 Panigale 1199R F18 V2 variant which is the ex-Rinaldi FIM WSBK run by the Aruba.it Racing Team. Panigale V2 bikes continued to be used on the world stage but only in World Supersport following the 2018 campaign.

The guide price for this machine is a whopping £100,000 to £140,000 and will be auctioned off on 25 August at Silverstone, courtesy of Iconic Auctioneers. That’s going to see a lot of wallets break down in tears, but if you do have the finances to buy this majestic V2 machine, this is what you can expect to receive.

The bike is kitted out with all the race sponsors used in 2018 and with Rinaldi’s official race number on it. It’s also signed by Ducati Corse’s Paolo Ciabatti and has a bag full of factory race parts added to it ready for your first track day. A battery charger and paddock stand will also be included for the highest bidder.
