Harley-Davidson LiveWire & Turner Twins tackle the North Coast 500
Turner Twins take two Harley-Davidson LiveWire electric motorcycles on a tour of the North Coast 500 - an electric expedition in winter!
TURNER TWINS Ross & Hugo take two Harley-Davidson LiveWire motorcycles on the famous North Coast 500 route in December, apparently never run out of charge, and make a film about it!
Starting the 516-ish mile tour in Glasgow at a Harley-Davidson dealership, the twins set off in the midst of winter on two new LiveWires (what were they thinking doing it in Winter?) and completed it all in six days.
Harley-Davidson LiveWire vs Zero SR/S
Exploring the North by means of adventuring along the North Coast 500 has long been a popular destination, but perhaps more so this year given the potential of overseas travel is made a touch more difficult. Exploring the UK has never been so appealing.
The 110 mile range of the LiveWire meant charging at hotels overnight when possible, plugging their bikes into standard wallplugs, which over the 6 days works out pretty nicely.
Long Way Up (to Scotland) on the Harley-Davidson LiveWire
“We were doing 30mph through Glen Coe, visors up, just chatting to each other,” Ross said of their ride. “Red stags and hinds everywhere. It was simply amazing. The silence was a really nice change.”
They have a point, whilst they weren’t accompanied by the tones of a motor beneath them, given the silent nature of an electric motorcycle, they’d more than easily be able to have a chat riding next to each other. That’s a positive you don’t often hear discussed!
