Malaguti reveals XAM electric concept alongside 2023 range
Malaguti has announced its first electric concept bike, and its 2023 range of motorcycles, with technical and aesthetic updates to many models.
Malaguti made an impact at EICMA 2022 with updates across its range, and the unveiling of a new electric concept motorcycle.
It has been four years since Malaguti was bought by the Austrian-based KSR Group, and the Italian brand’s growth looks set to continue in the coming years with an electric concept revealed at EICMA 2022 alongside Malaguti’s 2023 roster.
Starting with the 2023 bikes, Malaguti has updated the paint on the recently-launched Drakon 125 (“Neve White” and “Spirito Grey” become available) while other 125cc motorcycles from Malaguti receive more significant updates.
Both the XSM and XTM 125s receive updates for 2023 with a new exhaust, new seat, and ABS coming for the new model year. Both also come with full LED lighting and daytime running lights.
Furthermore, Malaguti says that the “lines of the Madison 125 have also been redrawn.” The Madison is the first scooter to be developed jointly by Malaguti and GPX in Thailand and will be available in 2023 in the “Neve White”, “Toro Black”, and “Albero Green” colours.
Finally, we come to the XAM concept. This is the first foray into electromobility for Malaguti, and is firmly aimed at the off-road market. Details about its specs are scarce, but Malaguti says it is aimed at a younger audience, and that it intends for the production derivative of the XAM concept bike to weigh no more than 70kg. Additionally, it is not yet clear when the XAM will arrive, or how much it will cost, but the intention of the bike is to bridge the gap from bicycles to motorcycles, according to Malaguti.
